MODULE 8: Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Effective Safety and Health Committee

The course is designed to provide knowledge on the legislative framework for the safety, health and welfare among all Malaysian workforces. The principle is to prevent and protect the workers against hazards and its risks in connection with their activities at work. The course is also designed to provide workers and managers to create and foster a safer and healthier workplace. by creating an Effective Safety and Health Committee, you will not only bring your organization into compliance with OSHA1994 requirements, you will also develop and promote the principles and practices that help reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. Effective Safety and Health Committees also help improve employee morale, and increase productivity.

MODULE 7: Noise Monitoring, Noise Exposure Monitoring and Noise Mapping

The course is designed to provide practical knowledge to the targeted employees within any organizations or anyone who is responsible for ensuring good practicing in noise management. Topics covered include legal and compliance aspects on noise issue. monitoring of noise can be either under DoE or DOSH’s jurisdiction. The difference between Ambient Noise, Noise Exposure Monitoring & Noise Mapping shall also be covered in this module.

MODULE 6: Wastewater/Sewerage Treatment Plant Management

The course is designed to provide practical knowledge to the targeted employees within any organizations or anyone who is responsible for ensuring proper wastewater/sewage treatment plants management. Topics covered include legal and compliance aspects, operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, on-line monitoring system, treatment technologies and advanced treatment technology.

MODULE 5: Water Sampling, In Situ Measurement and Analysis

The course is designed to provide knowledge on a variety of sampling methodology and devices, on-line instruments and methods for collection of representative water samples. A brief description on water analysis and its need are also included in the course. Safety and the concept of representative sampling are strongly emphasized.

MODULE 4: Emission Pollution Control and Technology

The course is designed for environmental practitioners who shall take part in the hands on of the stack emissions auditing activities from stationary sources. This training shall introduce the USEPA stack testing method for audit purposes for Emission Monitoring System (CEMS and PEMS). This training shall provide basic understanding of the concepts, equipment, procedures and calculations used in accordance to sampling methods including RAA and RATA. These understanding are the fundamental skills necessary for meeting stack testing regulatory requirements based on Department of Environment’s regulation.

MODULE 3: Air Quality Monitoring

The course is designed to provide knowledge on a variety of air sampling devices, on-line instruments, methods for collection of representative air samples and the selection of air pollution control devices. Safety and the concept of representative sampling are strongly emphasized.

MODULE 2: Environmental Quality Act 1974 and Its Regulations & Guided Self-Regulation

The course is designed to provide practical knowledge to the targeted employees within any organizations or anyone who is responsible for the legal aspect of an organization. Topics covered include the EQA 1974 and its regulations, international treaties (Kyoto Protocol, Basel Convention, Agenda 21 etc) and current development on the Department of Environment Guided Self-Regulation (GSR).

MODULE 1: Basic Environmental Science and Introduction to Environmental Issues

The course is designed to provide basic environmental knowledge and awareness to the targeted employees within any organization. Topics covered include the basic ecosystems, air and water pollution, global issues such as Global Warming, Agenda 21 etc. The basic principle of Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) will also be highlighted in this course.

Conforming to our commitment in conducting a corruption-free business that adheres to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, we have adopted the "No Gift Policy" and the "Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy" which prohibits our employees from soliciting or receiving any form of gratification from vendors, customers and other external parties. Such policies shall also apply to all of ASMA's vendors, suppliers, contractors and consultants.
