Environmental awareness proves important for several reasons; it fosters a sense of connection to the natural world, promotes sustainable development and encourages conservation of irreplaceable natural resources and vulnerable plant and animal species.

We just can’t run away from being connected to the environment and yet we allow ourselves to be disconnected. Whatever we do either on personal nature or professional activities will have direct or indirect environmental consequences. Continuous and countless attempts and efforts to educate the human species and yet we failed miserably and the environment continues to be slowly degraded and destroyed.

Many of us are aware on the impact of our activities on the environment. However, being merely aware of environmental issues and problems is not sufficient, because in order for awareness to be meaningful in practice, it must positively influence people’s behavior and attitude, at both personal and professional levels, as well as action. For it is only then that meaningful progress towards global environmental protection and sustainable development can be made.
